The New AI Coach: Ask Why, for Your Whole Range or a Single Hand
A solver tells you what to do. When you study, the question you actually have is why. Until today the AI Coach answered it for one hand at a time, and only on the turn and river. We have rebuilt it from scratch, and the new version is live in the solver right now.
The spot coach
Load any spot, walk the tree to the decision you want to study and press Analyze this spot. The answer arrives in five blocks, each with its own data next to the text:
| Block | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Plan | What your range does and how far it sits from GTO |
| Why | The villain decision you are exploiting, pool versus GTO |
| Your range | Every hand category, GTOkiller and GTO side by side |
| Showdown | River only: what the pool actually shows up with, compared with GTO |
| Your exploitative adjustment | One sentence to take to the table |
Here is a real one. GG NL10-50, regs, single raised pot, small blind against big blind, flop K♠ 8♥ 4♦, and you are first to act.
GTO bets this flop with 62% of the range. GTOkiller bets 99%, most of it with the small 1.98 bb size. The reason is in the table: facing that bet the pool folds 35% where GTO folds 23%, and raises half as often as it should (9% against 18%). A rival that gives up too much and rarely fights back is a rival you bet into with almost everything.
The Your range table shows where the extra bets come from. Value was already betting. The change is in the weak part of the range: ace high bets 100% of the time against 52% in GTO, and underpairs 100% against 53%. The analysis closes with a single instruction:
Your exploitative adjustment
Against this pool’s excessive folding on K♠ 8♥ 4♦, bet nearly your entire range, primarily with the 1.98 bb bet (33% of the pot).
On the river the spot coach adds the showdown block. In a 3-bet pot, big blind against small blind, on K♠ Q♥ 3♠ 5♣ 7♦, this is what the pool reaches showdown with, next to the GTO range:
The pool arrives with far fewer medium pairs than equilibrium assumes: second pair is 17% of its range against 40%. And it folds 59% to the river shove where GTO folds 38%, the same river overfold we measured in the triple barrel study. The coach turns both facts into a two-sided adjustment: bluff more with your air and check more of your thin value.
The hand coach
For a specific hand, hover the combo matrix. A card with every combo of that hand appears next to the cell. Click the cell to pin it and press AI Coach on the combo you want.
Take that same hand one street earlier: the 3-bet pot, big blind against small blind, K♠ Q♥ 3♠ and the 5♣ on the turn. You hold 9♥ 8♥, with nothing.
The Verdict is a table: betting 32 bb is worth 3.85 bb, the smaller 20 bb bet 3.55 bb, checking 2.17 bb, and shoving 80 bb loses 3.21 bb. Why then puts two things side by side. First the leak: the pool folds 59% to that bet and GTO folds 48%. Then your category: with no made hand GTOkiller bets 62% of the time and GTO 68%. The strategy does not bluff more across the board. It chooses its bluffs, and this combo is one of them: it bets 98% of the time.
Where the EV comes from breaks the line into outcomes. Almost half of the EV, 47%, is the villain folding right there on the turn. Another 17% arrives on the river, when the villain calls the turn, checks and folds to a 48 bb bet. The rivers where you give up and check cost 5%. That is the whole logic of a double barrel, written with the numbers of this node.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between the spot coach and the hand coach?
- The spot coach explains how the node on screen is played with your whole range: the plan versus GTO, the pool leak that justifies it and the hand categories that change role. The hand coach explains one combo: the best line with its EV, what each alternative gives up, the leak that hand attacks and where the EV comes from.
- Which plans include the AI Coach?
- The spot coach is on every plan: 3 analyses per day on Free and unlimited study on Edge and Killer. The hand coach is included in Killer; Free gets 3 analyses per day and on Edge it is available on your first flop of the day.
- Does the AI make up the numbers?
- No. Every figure is computed by GTOkiller from the solver output and the population data and shown in its own table. The language model only writes the explanation around those figures and is not allowed to calculate or quote anything that is not in the node.
- Which streets and languages does it support?
- Flop, turn and river, in English, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese. The coach only shows a block when the data for it exists, so the EV breakdown and the showdown composition appear on later streets.
